If you are interested you have to be 18 years old. You may attend one class to try it out. If you would like to join an interview will be arranged after which you will be notified of your acceptance.
A Judo or Karate Suit will be required - In the beginning you can wear gym clothes that are easy to move in. If accepted you will be required to purchase a Bokken (wooden training sword) from me to train with. (these are made specially for us to withstand the rigours of training) The cost around R480. Please NOTE! Plastic bokken are not allowed.
Within three months of training you will be required to have the following:
Bokken
Wooden Wakizashi
Wooden Tanto
Jo (short staff)
Iai to - A blunt training sword. Make sure to ask me what quality will be acceptable.
Display swords are not allowed.
Karate or Judo Gi with a belt.
If you fail to reach this requirement you will have to stop class untill you have the equipment.
Within one year of training you must have purchased a Shinken (live blade). Your training will be reaching a level where you will be doing Tameshi geri to test your skills.
If you do not have this your training will sease until you aquire the equipment.
Fees: One class a week: R200 per month. There is only one class per week at the moment. This will change to R400 p/m when 2 classes per week are introduced. These fees are payable regardless of how many classes are attended.
